1. Attendance: 

Regular attendance at rehearsals is necessary for the success of our ensembles. If a member must miss a rehearsal, the absence should be communicated to the director in advance via email. Any member who misses more than two consecutive rehearsals, or four rehearsals total, during the time leading up to a concert may not be permitted to perform at the concert at the discretion of the ensemble director.

 

   2. Arrival Time: 

Students are expected to arrive 15 minutes before rehearsal time in order to unpack, be seated and warm up before the rehearsal starts.  

 

   3. Preparation: 

Students are to have instruments, music, pencil, mute, rosin, valve oil, extra reeds, extra strings, etc. at every rehearsal. Please tape the music together so the pages don’t get mixed up or lost.

 

   4. Practice Requirements: 

In order to achieve a high-level of proficiency for playing the music, students must maintain a daily practice schedule at home. Serious students should be practicing an hour each day. Private lessons are encouraged but not required for membership. Please see our list of recommended private teachers here.

 

   5. Dress Code:

Rehearsals: Standard school dress code applies. No hats are allowed.

 

Dress code for concerts:

​

   Encore Strings, Encore Band and Prelude Strings: Dressy white shirt with long black skirt or pants, black shoes, no sneakers please.

​

   CCYO: All black, dressy.
